A seasoned civil and environmental engineer whose career spans more than four decades across both public and private sectors, Albert Martinez holds a master of science in environmental engineering from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY. Earlier in his academic career, Albert Martinez attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he earned a place on the Commandant’s List and competed as a wrestler.
Mr. Martinez currently serves as construction inspection manager for the City of Greeley, Colorado. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing public infrastructure projects, supervising inspection staff, coordinating with agencies, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. He has contributed to structural changes in the department, including establishing a more autonomous inspection division within community development.
Before joining the City of Greeley, Mr. Martinez served as an environmental engineer at Holly Frontier Refining LLC in Cheyenne, WY. There, he focused on water resource management and regulatory compliance related to wastewater and stormwater systems. He is a registered professional engineer in Washington State and belongs to organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Water Works Association. Outside of work, Mr. Martinez has competed in national wrestling events and enjoys fishing and hunting in Wyoming.
